Stantons of Stoke celebrates 12 years with first new coach delivery
Stantons of Stoke has celebrated its 12th anniversary with the purchase of a Mercedes-Benz Tourismo M/2. It is the first new full-sized coach delivered to the business and has been supplied by Daimler Buses UK.
The Tourismo is named Lady Linda in honour of Managing Director Keith Stanton’s mother, and is finished in the Endon operator's silver-based livery. Included are polished alloy wheels and a cherished registration mark.
The new arrival continues Stantons’ favour of the Tourismo for large coach needs. It is a 13m, two-axle model and has 59 seats in Travel Star Eco upholstery and with synthetic leather headrest inserts.
Also included are armrests, USB charging points, and twin 21.5-inch monitors. PSVAR compliance has been specified, with a passenger lift immediately behind the front axle and silver LED destination displays.
The driver benefits from a heated seat and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Safety systems include a rear-view camera, Active Brake Assist 6, Sideguard Assist 2, and Traffic Sign Assist.
Power is from the 10.8-litre OM 470 engine developing 390bhp coupled to an eight-speed Powershift automated manual gearbox.

Hollinshead Coaches welcomes Scania MOBIpeople Premium pair
Hollinshead Coaches of Biddulph has taken delivery of two Scania K360s with MOBIpeople Premium 350 bodywork, supplied by BASE Coach Sales.
They are each 12.5m long on two axles and have 74 Prime Buckingham seats to a 3+2 layout. PSVAR compliance has been specified, with that coming in part via a Hidral Gobel passenger lift and space for one wheelchair user.
Twin nearside doors are fitted to assist rapid boarding and alighting. Both coaches have a courier’s position along with a Centrad CCTV system, and are finished in the Staffordshire operator’s distinctive shade of red.
Power is from the Scania DC09 engine developing 360bhp driving through a ZF EcoLife six-speed automatic gearbox. BASE Coach Sales General Manager Nick Dodgson notes how the Hollinshead Coaches pair have “been very well received by clients and customers alike.”

Wrexham Enviro200 delivery opens Arriva Cymru £15m investment
Arriva Cymru has taken delivery of 11 new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses for its Wrexham depot and says that the procurement is part of a wider £15 million fleet investment across its business that will see 59 new buses arrive.
The Wrexham batch are for cross-border route 1 between the town and Chester, where they will replace Enviro400 City double-decks over the coming weeks. Also part of the upgrade are 15 single-decks for Bangor depot, and 33 double-decks for Rhyl.
Those will follow the Wrexham delivery, the operator says. Such an investment in Rhyl will sit alongside eight Wrightbus StreetDeck double-decks recently received for TrawsCymru route T51 between the town and Wrexham.
Earlier this year, Arriva detailed a £340 million group-wide investment in vehicles and facilities for its regional and London operations that will see 809 new vehicles purchased once complete.
Speaking about the first part of the fleet upgrade work in Wales, Arriva Cymru Commercial Director Adam Marshall says: “These new buses are a real boost for Wrexham, offering passengers more comfortable and reliable journeys as they hit the road.
“They are part of a much bigger £15 million investment across Wales, and it shows our commitment to giving communities here a bus service that they can depend on. We want people to look at the bus first when they are planning to get around, and consider leaving the car at home.”
The group-wide overhaul will see more than 500 new buses join Arriva provincial fleets alongside facilities upgrades, vehicle refurbishment, and investment in depot electrification.
