Meet the Brand: Irizar UK

We catch up with Terri Ward from Irizar UK to find out more about their brand and exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo, on stand V38.

Tell us a bit about your company?

Irizar UK is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Irizar S Coop, representing the company's coach and electric mobility businesses in the UK. Its activities include the sale of Irizar coaches, zero-emission battery-electric buses from Irizar e-mobility, aftersales and service support, and the supply of genuine Irizar parts through its recently launched UK parts business.

The coach division supplies the Irizar Integral range to the UK market, including the award-winning Irizar i6S Efficient. Available in a range of lengths and configurations, the Integral range is designed for a variety of applications, including scheduled services, private hire and touring operations.

Irizar e-mobility develops and manufactures battery-electric buses for urban and airport operations. The product range includes the ie-bus and the articulated ie-tram, with vehicles operating in cities and airports across Europe. The 18.7m articulated ie-tram on display at Euro Bus Expo 2026 is destined for service at a major UK airport.

Irizar UK's aftersales operation provides technical support, warranty administration, technical training and product support for operators throughout the UK, working alongside the company's dedicated UK parts business to support both the coach and electric bus product ranges.

In August 2026, Irizar UK launched its dedicated UK parts business, providing direct access to genuine Irizar replacement parts. The new service supports operators across both the coach and electric bus sectors, complementing the company's existing sales and aftersales activities.

Together, these divisions provide a single UK organisation supporting Irizar products throughout their operational lifecycle, from vehicle supply and commissioning to technical support, servicing and the supply of genuine replacement parts.

Tell us about your latest product(s), service(s), promotions or launches visitors can hope to see on your stand?

Visitors to the Irizar UK stand at Euro Bus Expo 2026 will see a selection of the products and developments from across the Irizar Group, including vehicles from the Irizar Integral coach range, Irizar e-mobility and the newly launched UK parts business.

The coach display will feature two Irizar Integral i6S Efficient coaches in 10.8m and 13.2m variants. The i6S Efficient was awarded the Sustainable Bus Award 2022 in the Coach category, recognising its focus on improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The vehicles on display demonstrate the flexibility of the Integral range for different operator requirements, combining passenger comfort, practicality and efficient operation.

Also on display will be an 18.7m articulated Irizar e-mobility ie-tram. This zero-emission battery-electric bus combines the styling and passenger appeal of a tram with the operational characteristics of a bus. The vehicle is destined for service at a major UK airport, where it will form part of the airport's passenger transport network.

Visitors will also be able to learn more about Irizar UK's dedicated parts business, launched in August 2026. The new business provides direct access to genuine Irizar replacement parts for operators in the UK, supporting the ongoing maintenance and operation of Irizar vehicles.

The stand will provide an opportunity to meet representatives from Irizar UK's coach sales, Irizar e-mobility, aftersales and parts teams, offering visitors a chance to discuss current vehicles, future requirements and the support available throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

From premium coaches to zero-emission electric mobility and genuine replacement parts, the Irizar UK stand will showcase the breadth of products and services now available to UK operators.

Why is exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo 2026 an unmissable opportunity for you?

Euro Bus Expo 2026 allows us to showcase a milestone year for Irizar UK as it enters the next chapter of its development in the UK market. The event will highlight the continued growth of the business, including the recently launched UK parts business and new purpose-built facility in Blyth, Nottinghamshire.

Located just off the A1 near Blyth Services, the new facility provides a central base for Irizar UK's sales, aftersales and parts activities. It reflects the ongoing development of its UK presence and provides the foundations for supporting operators across the country with vehicle sales, technical support and genuine Irizar parts.

A key focus for Irizar UK at Euro Bus Expo 2026 will be the introduction of the dedicated UK parts business. Launched in August 2026, the business provides operators with direct access to genuine Irizar replacement parts for both coach and electric bus products, complementing the existing sales and aftersales activities.

The event also allows operators, industry partners and stakeholders to meet the wider Irizar team, learn more about our expanded capabilities and discuss their current and future vehicle requirements.

As the UK transport sector continues to evolve, Euro Bus Expo 2026 marks an important opportunity for Irizar UK to demonstrate the latest developments within the business and outline the next phase of our support for the UK market.

Why is exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo 2026 an unmissable opportunity for you?

Attending Euro Bus Expo is incredibly important for us as it’s one of the key events in the industry and a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our presence within the bus and coach sector. The event brings together thousands of professionals, operators, suppliers and decision-makers from across the industry, making it an invaluable place to network, build relationships and create new opportunities.

For us, the expo is about far more than just exhibiting, it’s about reconnecting with current customers, meeting new faces, and maintaining the strong relationships we’ve built over time. In an industry where relationships matter, having the opportunity to meet people face-to-face, rather than always through a screen or over the phone, is hugely valuable. It helps put faces to the names we speak to regularly and allows for more meaningful conversations.

It’s also the perfect platform to showcase what we offer in person. Being able to demonstrate our services directly, have real conversations, and engage with people first-hand gives customers and prospects a much better understanding of who we are and how we can support them.

With leading manufacturers, suppliers and industry professionals all under one roof, the event is a major hub for innovation, collaboration and future opportunities within the sector. For us, it’s genuinely an unmissable event and an important investment in maintaining visibility, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to grow within the industry.

25 sessions tackle what's next for coach and bus at Euro Bus Expo

[ultimate_heading main_heading="25 sessions tackle what's next for coach and bus at Euro Bus Expo 2026" heading_tag="h1" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

AI, automation, fleet transition, compliance, workforce, bus reform and the future of coach are among the issues taking centre stage.

The seminar programme runs across all three days of the show, from 3–5 November at the NEC Birmingham. It brings together operators, policymakers, manufacturers and local authorities to share first-hand experience and explore what is working in practice.

Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) Chief Executive Graham Vidler will open the programme with The Road Ahead for Bus & Coach: Navigating Change, Seizing Opportunity. He will set the scene with the political and operating landscape and CPT’s priorities for growth and investment.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Bus reform, franchising and partnership in practice" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

ALBUM examines how recent bus policy changes under the Bus Services Act 2025 affect operators. It will look at franchising, Enhanced Partnerships, electrification and what is needed to help small and medium operators thrive.

Real-world examples will show how different approaches are working on the ground. Arriva and Leicester City Council look at Leicester’s EP Max model, which delivers many of the benefits of franchising with significantly less cost, risk and delay.

Samuel Ribeiro of Tower Transit will explore Jersey’s ‘franchise-light’ approach. Journeys grew from 3.2 million to 5 million before the pandemic, achieved full post-Covid recovery by 2023, and have continued to grow since. The case study will demonstrate what can be achieved without big-city scale or resources.

Stagecoach Midlands, West Northamptonshire Council and GO Travel Solutions will explore how a BSIP-backed partnership is strengthening stakeholder engagement. The partnership is generating market intelligence to shape services and find new ways to promote bus use.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="AI, automation and smarter networks" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

Intangles, SURE and Optibus cut through the hype around AI to examine real deployments, the problems being solved and the business realities of adoption.

Automation gets a similarly practical treatment in a panel session. Whippet will share its real-world experience from an automated bus trial, alongside Alexander Dennis and London South Bank University. The discussion will examine how close wider adoption is and what it could mean for operators.

Matt King of Arriva will look at how network design, data and timetable optimisation can improve reliability and punctuality. Elsewhere, Project Coral will update visitors on the operator-led work towards multi-operator contactless fare capping.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Fleet transition, engineering and maintenance" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

For operators tackling fleet transition, the programme spans both the first steps and the realities of running vehicles over the longer term.

Megan Summers of Zenobē will address how to get an electrification project off the ground, from project planning to funding barriers. David Yorke of Future Zero Emission will consider where hydrogen fits in zero-emission heavy-duty transport.

At the other end of the vehicle lifecycle, Exceliamus and Practical Edge Training examine the opportunities and pitfalls of second-life EVs, from buying used to managing and maintaining ageing vehicles.

Eric Higham of Logistics UK will draw on 48,000 annual vehicle inspections to highlight the defects operators should prioritise. He will also make the compliance and cost-saving case for preventative maintenance.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Operations and compliance" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

CPT’s Operations & Policy Update will cover operational, regulatory, policy and funding developments affecting coach and bus operators.

Jonathon Backhouse of Backhouse Jones will look at what excellent compliance management means in a digital world, including BODS, PSVAR, reliability, punctuality and mixed-work pitfalls.

Fleet safety will also come under the spotlight. Reading Buses has held the lowest driver-risk score among comparable UK operators for two years. Together with Powerfleet, it will explore how to keep improving when conventional benchmarks no longer push performance forward.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Safer, more accessible journeys" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

In ‘Accessibility in Practice: Designing Services for Everyone’, a panel will look at how vehicle design and technology can reduce sensory, cognitive and physical barriers to travel.

A further session examines the industry response to violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour. It will focus on practical steps to keep passengers and drivers safe.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Coach in focus" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

Coach operators will find dedicated content across all three days, from the immediate challenge of European operations to the longer-term future of the sector.

Backhouse Jones will explain what the EU’s Entry/Exit System means for operators and how to protect drivers, passengers and tours. Beyond cross-border operations, ‘Coach in Focus: What You Need to Know’ looks at current challenges and what businesses need to prepare for next.

Dr Jaya Sajnani, founder and CEO of YG Travel, will share a candid perspective on building a PSV business in a male-dominated sector. She will reflect on opening doors for other women and make a rallying call for a louder, prouder voice for coach.

‘Coach Operations of the Future’ will consider how customer expectations, technology, workforce challenges and investment could reshape the sector. It will also look at what operators can do now to build resilient, competitive businesses.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Future-proofing the workforce" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

Driver shortages, an ageing workforce and competition for talent demand more than recruitment alone. A panel featuring RHA, Women in Bus & Coach, RouteStar and ASOT will explore how to widen the talent pool and attract new people. It will also look at wellbeing, retention and building a more diverse, resilient workforce.

[ultimate_heading main_heading="Go deeper with roundtables" heading_tag="h3" alignment="left"][/ultimate_heading]

New for 2026, small-group roundtables will give operators the chance to compare experiences and explore key issues in greater depth with peers and experts.

Roundtables cover franchising – including in rural areas, and Enhanced Partnerships. Other discussions will explore electric fleets, depot infrastructure and energy, hydrogen, AI and data, driver retention, engineering and maintenance, PSVAR from 2030, BODS and passenger information. Places will be limited and bookable through the show’s meeting planner, Euro Bus Expo Connect, when it launches on 1 October.

[dt_quote]Helen Conway, Group Director for Euro Bus Expo, says: "Operators are being asked to make decisions across a wide range of areas, from regulation and network reform to AI, fleet transition, workforce and rapidly changing technology. That's why we've built this year's programme around expert insight, practical experience and the questions businesses are asking now.

"Whether you're running coaches, buses or both, the aim is that you leave with something useful to take back to your operation."[/dt_quote]
