Bus networks of all sizes use CitySwift’s Performance Optimisation Platform to solve problems with data. Operators and transport authorities use CitySwift’s insights, recommendations, and predictions to deliver efficient, reliable, and in-demand services.

By ingesting vehicle location, ticketing, and schedule data, CitySwift builds an accurate picture of the network. This data is cleaned and enriched by CitySwift’s AI engine to ensure high-quality insights.

CitySwift’s analysis is delivered across two key areas of the platform:

  • Business intelligence: 50+ KPIs covering punctuality, efficiency, and demand, plus a range of dashboards for root-cause analysis (driver performance, vehicle block performance, congestion and speeds, passenger movements and delays).
  • Recommendations and predictions: Validate schedules and retrieve suggested runtime improvements, with the ability to test different scenarios and assess the impact on performance and resource. Receive customised recommendations on what to optimise for quick wins across the network.

We have three exciting new product features that visitors can see in action at CitySwift’s stand:

  • CitySwift Spotlight is an intelligent, personalised recommendation engine for high performing bus networks. Developed in collaboration with our innovation partner, National Express West Midlands, Spotlight automatically pinpoints and prioritises the best routes to optimise, tailored to your network’s unique needs. Empower stakeholders to spot quick wins, prioritise effectively, benchmark opportunities, and showcase the predicted impact of potential changes.
  • CitySwift Simulations allows users to understand and compare the performance vs resource tradeoffs of different runtime scenarios. Equipped with these predictions, users can confidently and quickly make changes that maximise assets and passenger experience – within the constraints of the bus network.
  • CitySwift’s Speed Map Dashboard highlights areas of congestion and bus stop usage. Operators and authorities can use this dashboard to understand what areas may benefit from schedule changes, bus lanes, waiting facility upgrades, or traffic signal updates. Time periods can be compared to highlight changes, improvements and quality decline over time across passenger usage, speeds, punctuality, and passenger delays.

We have included a significant upgrade in our integration with the ITxPT protocol. This upgrade enables seamless connectivity between all onboard ancillary devices, allowing for smoother and more efficient fleet management. The integration enhances interoperability, streamlining communication between systems like passenger counters, ticketing devices, and onboard displays, ultimately improving operational efficiency and passenger experiences.

We are also excited to showcase our new Vehicle Inspection Application, designed to digitize and streamline the inspection process. This application helps operators manage inspections, repairs, and maintenance directly from the back office, simplifying the entire workflow and reducing paperwork. By enabling real-time tracking of inspection statuses and maintenance schedules, operators can ensure vehicles are safe and in optimal condition, while reducing downtime. The inspection criteria follows the DVSA compliance and can be customized based on the client's requirements.

In addition, we've made significant upgrades to our back office system, introducing enhanced features for driver management. These upgrades include improved roster management, tracking driver performance, and optimizing daily operations based on KPIs. Our new dashboard provides operators and drivers with a clear overview of key metrics, helping them maintain and improve service quality while keeping operations aligned with set goals.
