Transport Minister to Open Final Day of Industry’s Leading Showcase

Opening the event on its third and final day, Simon Lightwood MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Transport, will deliver an address at the Masterclass Theatre.
Transport Minister Simon Lightwood’s Address
Simon Lightwood MP, appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Transport in July 2024, will open Day three on 14 November with a 10-minute address. As a former Shadow Transport Minister, Lightwood brings a wealth of experience in local transport.
The Minister is expected to talk about the Government’s ambitions for the coach and bus sector, and how it will approach supporting the key role played by manufacturers and suppliers in delivering this. This address offers attendees insight into the Government’s vision for the future of the UK’s coach and bus industries.

Simon Lightwood MP’s address is one of many highlights in the three-day Masterclass Theatre programme, which features 47 speakers in 28 sessions, including:
- Day 1: Sessions on achieving Net Zero, franchising models, and decarbonising fleets, including insights from Andrew Luckett on the UK’s largest data-driven decarbonisation report.
- Day 2: The CPT Operator Forum, hosted by the Confederation of Passenger Transport, will cover topics such as AI, accessibility, recruitment, and the future of coach travel.
- Day 3: Beyond Simon Lightwood’s address, attendees can explore sessions on zero-emission fleet operations, driver wellbeing, and the conclusion of the show’s Innovation Challenge.

Euro Bus Expo 2024 is set to host 190 exhibitors, showcasing a range of vehicles, equipment, technology, and services. Euro Bus Expo 2024 to showcase industry’s latest innovations
Next month, the coach and bus industry will be out in force at Euro Bus Expo 2024 to explore the latest technologies, state-of-the-art vehicles, advanced equipment, and innovative business solutions driving the industry forward.
Taking place over three days, from 12-14 November 2024 at the NEC Birmingham, Euro Bus Expo will deliver a comprehensive showcase of the entire supply chain.
Among the 185 exhibitors, there will be a diverse array of over 70 cutting-edge vehicles on display from 23 leading vehicle manufacturers and dealers, showcasing the latest advancements in coach and bus technology. The full vehicle lineup will be revealed next week.
In addition to vehicle displays, visitors will discover an extensive range of products and services from suppliers, showcasing innovations that support and enhance every aspect of coach and bus operations.
Innovation Challenge
One of the most anticipated features is the Innovation Challenge – a competition showcasing groundbreaking products and services set to transform the future of coach and bus operations.
Exhibitor entries will be displayed at the Innovation Challenge Gallery, where visitors will vote for their favourite new initiatives on the first two days of the show.
On day three (14 November), suppliers of innovations with the most votes will deliver a fast-paced 90-second pitch to a live audience and a panel of expert judges in the Masterclass Theatre.
Judges include Phil Hitchen, Managing Director at Belle Vue Coaches; Chloe Leach-O’Connell, Managing Director at Leach-O’Connell Consultancy; Keith McNally, Operations Director at the CPT; and Tom Morgan, Managing Director at trentbarton.
