Journeo: Smarter, safer and more sustainable public transport services have arrived

"Intelligent transport system specialist Journeo is using Euro Bus Expo to highlight the pivotal role connected technology plays in enabling people to confidently choose sustainable transport options.Featuring an immersive experience at stand 120, visitors will get first-hand experience of how a single software platform can unite data, solutions and journeys across buses, trains, trams, stops, stations and applications.

Attendees will be able to interact with various exhibits and see how data flows from vehicles, displays and other edge technologies to Journeo’s SaaS platform. They can also explore how this information is intelligently analysed and presented as actionable insights to protect passengers, improve services, make efficiencies and save costs.

The featured exhibits are:

- Critical vehicle subsystems that provide increased safety, security, comfort and operational data. This includes a preview of Journeo’s forthcoming audio and visual next-stop announcement solution, as well as demonstrations of CCTV, occupancy, and passenger WiFi applications.

- The new Journeo Blind Spot Information System (BSIS); a development in the company’s digital wing mirror range that provides the most accurate detection of vulnerable road users currently available to bus operators.
- Journeo’s latest content management system for real time information displays, which delivers passenger-focused journey information. Supporting flexible, intuitive and immediate RTPI management, the system is RTIGT047-compliant, can drive any display type and features a new QR code application for accessible, live travel information at any location.

- A concept bus shelter showcasing the company’s range of sustainable, ultra-low-power and passenger-friendly displays.

Russ Singleton, Chief Executive Officer of Journeo, said: “Each year our offering for transport operators and authorities becomes more sophisticated and exciting. The ability of our latest software platform to connect on-vehicle and on-street technologies will provide the interoperability people need to create attractive and high-performing transport networks.

“Alongside other innovations, like our Blind Spot Information System, which I’m confident will contribute to increased road safety, I firmly believe we will help customers give the public confidence to consistently chose to take the bus, cycle and walk to reach their destination.”"

Intangles Predictive AI Launches in the UK

"Intangles’ predictive AI systems alerts fleet operators to vehicle issues before a vehicle fault code is triggered. This creates substantial savings in operating costs by improving fuel efficiency, reducing downtime, decreasing maintenance costs, and often results in cheaper repairs.

Intangles, a young but already very well established and heavily backed tech company, has developed a world leading AI product that can predict when a vehicle is going to fail with 96% accuracy. Customer fleets in the US are reporting a reduction in fuel use of up to 10%, reduction in maintenance costs of up to 10%, and a reduction in breakdowns of up to 75% - figures that represent enormous savings.

The Intangles system monitors all the data that is processed in a vehicle’s CANbus in real time - this equates to millions of data points every day. Their algorithms then use physics-based modelling (i.e. how an engine functions in different conditions) to produce a digital twin (i.e. a digital replica) of each individual vehicle’s systems. This is then used with the information from the live vehicle to create an accurate model of current vehicle health and then raise alerts to the fleet manager where there are causes for concern, along with the ordered recommendations to address the problem. A vehicle could therefore be on a run and a minor predictive alert could be raised informing the maintenance staff of work that can be scheduled upon the vehicle’s return. Alternatively, in the case of a critical alert, the vehicle could be diverted to avoid breakdown and costly recovery. Note that the in-vehicle device operates passively - in “listening mode” only - and does not interfere with the CAN Bus or vehicle systems.

The Intangles system has been installed on over 250,000 vehicles worldwide and so the dataset is incredibly rich – they hold over 60 TB of curated (i.e. directly relevant and usable) data – a figure that increases daily. When new engine platforms are introduced to the AI, accurate new models are created in just a few days of vehicle operation. Furthermore, because of the climatic data that Intangles have gathered (ranging from the Canadian Rockies to the deserts of Rajasthan at 50°C) they have an incredibly rich dataset to enhance the quality of the digital twins.

The Intangles solution is OEM and powertrain agnostic and currently supports over 3,000 different engine specifications across multiple vehicle classes and fuel sources (ICE, alternative fuels, and Electric). The Intangles InRoute platform also contains a full suite of telematics and driver behaviour monitoring features, allowing fleets to maintain awareness of all aspects of their operations from in a single view. Easy to use and simple to learn, the platform comes with a convenient iOS and Android mobile app which can keep you informed on critical alerts while on the go. Device installation can be done in just a few minutes and is guaranteed to not interfere with any other existing systems in the vehicle.

Overall, the Intangles solution offers fleets unparalled value through multiple areas of benefit. Fleets will experience lower maintenance and fuel costs along with increased availability thanks to the accuracy of the insights that the system provides.

UK Launch. Intangles is currently looking for UK partners to come on board and trial the equipment (free of charge) as we enter the UK market. Partners will also benefit from an early partner discount when they choose to subsequently subscribe.
