Hi Emilia! Please could you share a bit of background on your career and current role at Turner & Townsend?

I am an Architectural and Construction Engineer, with several years of experience in the market, covering different aspects such as Digital Construction, Digital Twins and Smart Buildings.

I am currently working within the Digital Real Estate team in Turner & Townsend as Associate Director, helping clients setting up their digital action plans, Smart Buildings strategy and Digital Twins foundations.

Before Joining Turner and Townsend, I was working as Program Manager for the Digital Built Environment stream within BSI, where I have been responsible for certification schemes related to BIM, Smart Cities and Carbon Management in infrastructure.

I am currently part of the Women in BIM community and sits in the advisory group of the Digital Twin Hub.

Why is your discussion on ‘Digital twins for the real estate sector – shall we?’ an important one to have?

It is important to have this discussion in order to demystify the Digital Twins concept and clarify overlays with 3D modelling, smart buildings technology and FM platforms. It is important to understand differences and build relevant business cases on solid use cases before thinking to the technical aspects of it. It is a complex integration, and it requires proper planning in advance!

What can the audience expect to take away from your session?

People joining the session will understand how to strategically think at digital twins and getting things right to create a valid business case for the implementation of Digital Twins within their organisation.

What are you most looking forward to at the show?

I have been attending the show since its first editions and I find it the right space to get up to date with the latest trends and technologies in construction and beyond. It is also a fantastic space to network and reconnect with the wider industry. Looking forward to that!
