Sustainability is high on the agenda at Digital Construction Week. But it’s not just on the Net Zero Stage or at the stands where we’re thinking green – we’re committed to cutting our carbon as event organisers too.
And we want to support everyone involved in the show – from our visitors to our exhibitors – to make a positive impact.
As a visitor to Digital Construction Week, there are many things you can do to be sustainable and reduce your environmental impact. Here are some suggestions to help you…
Bring a reusable water bottle
Instead of buying plastic water bottles, bring your own reusable water bottle and fill up at the water filling stations found in the ExCeL centre at the East and West entrance, halls S4 and S7. This will help reduce the amount of plastic waste generated at the event.
Use public transport or carshare
Try to use public transport to get to the event if you can. If not, consider a car share with other attendees to reduce the number of cars on the road and lower carbon emissions.
Bring your own bag
If you think you might pick up giveaways at the event, bring your own reusable bag. This reduces the number of bags that are used and ultimately end up in landfills.
Eat sustainably
If you purchase food onsite look for sustainable options that use local and organic ingredients. Also, try to avoid disposable plates and utensils by bring your own reusable ones.
Recycle your plastic, cans, and paper rubbish
Recycling bins are available throughout the show and on the boulevard at ExCeL. Use them for items such as plastic bottles, cans, and paper.
Use your time at the event to reduce travel at other times
Consider how you can make the most of your time at the event to reduce your travel for meetings at other times of the year.
By taking these steps, you can help make Digital Construction Week more sustainable and reduce your environmental impact.
