As part of ONE’s continued contributions to research, development and digital innovations, we encourage our clients to underpin their decarbonisation strategies with energy monitoring solutions. Currently, operational energy use is not considered as important as fabric-first approaches & the installation of renewable technology. ONE’s Digital Twin solution allows any organisation of any size to deploy efficient digital twin solutions, targeted at decarbonisation.
Providing a platform at low cost, that is intuitive, scalable and accessible to all operators will entice users to explore how technology can support their decarbonisation efforts. Importantly, beginning to provide the industry with measured value which is crucial to cultural change and widespread adoption. Our Digital Twin approach integrates real-time information within BIM, providing insights that can:
• Closely monitor your energy consumption to identify peaks in demand, and root causes.
• Understand how spaces are used, heated and cooled to drive energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor asset performance to ensure excess energy is not consumed as a result of faults or poor maintenance.
• Integrate IoT (Internet of Things) data with your building management system to optimise controls.
• Actively utilise and publish energy consumption data for public-good and national initiatives such as Demand-Side-Response.
What are you most looking forward to at DCW 2024?
We are most looking forward to seeing the innovation across the industry and how it has embraced rapidly growing technological advancements. The construction sector, traditionally slower in adapting to digital and data transformations, is showing promising change and investment.
It’s encouraging to witness this shift at ONE and across the built environment, as it contributes to the improvement of construction practices. This progress marks a significant step forward in enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and overall effectiveness in the construction industry.
