As Digital Construction Week celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are thrilled to introduce Karolina Orecchini as Event Director!
Karolina brings a wealth of experience in event management and a deep knowledge of Digital Construction Week. We can’t wait to reveal what she has in store for this year’s event.
We caught up with Karolina to get some insight into her journey, what excites her most about the role, and her vision for the future of DCW.
How did you become the Event Director of DCW?
I took on the role of Event Director in December 2024, after joining DCW as Event Manager in January 2020, just before the world went into lockdown. Throughout my career, I’ve embraced challenges across diverse industries, from beauty to football, but the world of events has truly captured my heart.
I have over 10 years of experience in event management, including four editions of DCW, two editions of the Digital Construction Awards and the launch of Digital Construction North. I’m both excited and determined to ensure the three events continue to lead the way in celebrating excellence in the built environment.
What’s your favourite part of the role so far?
Two things stand out in my role: first, the opportunity to engage and collaborate with incredible people. DCW has a loyal and vibrant community, and its success lies with its community. I’m deeply grateful for the encouragement I’ve received since stepping into the role. Secondly, no two days are ever the same – a cliché, I know, but it’s precisely what makes working in events so exciting and rewarding.
Looking to the future – what are your plans for the development of the show?
I’m thrilled to be preparing for a significant milestone—our 10th birthday edition in June. It’s a moment to celebrate how far the industry has come. Over the past decade, we’ve witnessed remarkable transformation in DCW, welcoming more visitors and exhibitors than ever before. I’m eager to learn from the past, explore where we stand today, and spark meaningful discussions about the future ahead.
Once the celebrations are over, we’ll turn our focus to planning the 2026 edition. DCW has always been a place where visitors can learn from expert speakers, explore cutting-edge technology, and network with peers—and that commitment remains unchanged. Looking ahead, we’re focused on bringing even more of what makes DCW special, enhancing the experience for everyone involved.
Tell us a fun fact!
A fun fact about me is that I’m a huge fan of both reading and traveling. Whenever I visit a new place, my go-to souvenir is a book by a local author—of course, in English so I can enjoy it! My bookshelf has become a colourful reflection of my travels, filled with stories from around the world. Latest addition was ‘Behind the Greek Myths’ by Konstantinos Loukopoulos.
