Costain, the smart infrastructure solutions company, has appointed Nathan Marsh as chief digital officer and a member of its Executive board.
Nathan will lead the accelerated implementation of Costain’s commercial digital strategy, with responsibility for the delivery of Group-wide digital services enhancing the solutions to our clients. Nathan will also represent Costain on key strategic industry groups ensuring we continue to shape the future of digital infrastructure.

Nathan has over 20 years’ experience working in digital transformation with a particular focus on planning and enabling digital capabilities across the UK’s critical national infrastructure. Nathan is experienced in leading client and consulting teams to design and deliver programmes with new commercial structures, leveraging technology and new operating models across sectors including government, digital infrastructure, future mobility, defence, capital markets and strategic risk. His career history includes working with at SNC Lavalin, McKinsey & Co, EY and AON and seven years as an army officer.

Hear experts from Costain at DCW 2019
A number of experts from Costain are due to take to the stage at Digital Construction Week later this month, to share up-to-the-minute knowledge on topics including geospatial technology and building information modeling (BIM).
Costain’s head of GIS Operations,Sophie Stouki, and head of UAV & Visualisation, Jonathan Wales, will be on hand to share expert insights about geospatial solutions in Disrupt, Transform and Grow through GIS (10am in the Geospatial Theatre on Wednesday 16 October). They’ll discuss how the increased demand for insight-driven GIS solutions across the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures has promoted more collaborative working, analytical thinking and innovative use of the Esri platform as a valuable strategic tool within Costain.
In Implementing a BIM Collaborative Workflow (11.30am in the BIM Workshops theatre on Wednesday 16 October) Haddy Jallow, BIM Coordinator at Costain, will share a case study of BIM being practiced on a Smart Motorway Project. The session will detail the challenges faced during the implementation of BIM and the lessons learnt or how to avoid these issues.
