SITS – The Service Desk & IT Support Show, which will hold its 20th anniversary edition next month at London’s Earls Court on 29-30 April, is now accepting nominations for its new ITSM Contributor of the Year Award.
Launched to reward the significant contributions made by the UK’s ITSM professionals, the award will recognise the hard-work, innovation, and dedication of some of this industry’s most talented individuals. But, of course, there can only be one winner.
The message from SITS’s event manager Laura Venables is simple. Since there is no shortlist for ITSM Contributor of the Year Award and literally anyone working within the ITSM community could win it, it’s important to “make sure your vote counts”.
“The ITSM Contributor of the Year Award is a fantastic opportunity for the ITSM community to come together to recognise and celebrate the contributions of its members. And in doing so, identify that one truly exceptional individual that has really made a difference this year.
“So we’d like to ask you – the industry – to help choose your first winner. Your own nominee might be an inspiring leader or an ‘unsung’ champion working on the frontline of your service desk. The more nominations the better! I urge all SITS supporters, exhibitors and visitors to take a few minutes to fill in the nomination form online today and make sure your vote counts,” says Venables.
Ideally, nominees need to meet at least two (if not more) of the following criteria:
- Provides support and guidance to other ITSM practitioners and professionals
- Makes innovative and positive contributions towards the future of ITSM
- Creates interesting and challenging content; publications, blogs and social media
- Brings fun and character to their work and industry
- They are wise and knowledgeable about ITSM and their specific fields
The winner will be named on the first day of SITS14 (Tuesday 29 April), at Earls Court London.
Entry/nomination forms are available to complete online at www.servicedeskshow.com/itsm-contributor-of-the-year. A brief supporting statement is required for all entries. The deadline for submitting nominations is midnight on Wednesday 26 March.
