Aveda founder to host exclusive Natural Beauty Keynote

Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda and organic health and beauty brand Intelligent Nutrients, has been confirmed to headline this year’s Natural Beauty & Spa Theatre seminar line-up at the Natural & Organic Products Europe trade show at London’s Olympia on 7-8 April.

One of the three original founders of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), which promotes the idea that businesses have the greatest responsibility and opportunity to provide sustainability to all living species, ecopreneur Rechelbacher is a firm proponent of the idea that “what we put on our bodies should be as safe and nutritious as what goes into our bodies”.  He has championed the use of natural and certified organic ingredients since the 1970s and his new venture Intelligent Nutrients, which was officially launched in 2008, uses 100% food-based and organic certified ingredients.  In his exclusive Keynote at the 17th annual edition of Natural & Organic Products Europe on Monday 8 April, Rechelbacher will share insights into his career so far, including his vision for the future of the natural beauty industry.

“Horst Rechelbacher is a true organic pioneer in every sense of the word and we’re honoured to welcome him to our Natural Beauty & Spa seminar programme,” says event manager Carol Dunning.  “Known throughout the world as an innovative and inspiring business leader who changed the face of the modern beauty industry, his views on the importance of using organically grown ingredients ‘that are good enough to eat’ and for promoting the adoption of sustainable, socially responsible and eco-friendly business practices – are shared by many of our exhibitors and visitors at the show.  Needless to say, we’re anticipating this session to generate a lot of interest at this year’s show!”

Rechelbacher joins an illustrious line-up of exclusive speakers already confirmed for the 2013 Natural Beauty & Spa Theatre programme (supported by Organic Monitor and sponsored by Kinetic Natural Products Distributor).  These include Amarjit Sahota, president of leading international market analyst Organic Monitor, hosting an insightful session outlining major trends and developments in the UK’s natural and organic beauty products market; Michelle Thew, chief executive of the BUAV and Cruelty Free International, discussing the importance of producing ‘cosmetics with a conscience’; and Laura Rudoe, the cosmetics designer behind Evolve Beauty and S5 Skincare, who’ll be revealing the latest research on anti-ageing actives and the science behind natural approaches to anti-ageing.  Plus leading German retailer Michael Radau, CEO of SuperBioMarkt AG, will mark his show debut with a compelling look behind the scenes of operating in the largest natural and organic beauty products market in Europe.  Full seminar programme details will be available on the show’s website early next month.

It’s not just the speakers at Natural Beauty & Spa that promise to draw in the crowds for 2013.  This year’s central exhibition within the Natural Beauty & Spa show will feature 200 exhibitors – from award-winning small producers to leading big brand names – showcasing hundreds of natural and organic beauty and personal care innovations.  Confirmed exhibitors to date include: A’kin; Alba Botanica; Antipodes; Atlantic Aromatics; Aubrey Organics; Badger Balm; Balance Me; Bentley Organics; Blend Collective; BM Beauty; Comvita; Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps; Elizabeth’s Daughter; Elysambre; Evolve; Faith In Nature; Green People; Intelligent Nutrients; JĀSÖN; Lavera; Lucy Annabella Organics; Lulu + Boo; Madara; Mary Elizabeth Bodycare; MyChelle Dermaceuticals; Natracare; Naturtint; Pukka Ayurvedic; Rhodes to Heaven; Suti; Konjac Sponge; Tiana; Trilogy; U Little Beauty; Ultra Glow Cosmetics; Viridian; and many more.
