Organic Food Iberia: Visitor registration opens for launch event

With visitor registration now open, the countdown to Organic Food Iberia and Eco Living Iberia has officially begun.  Being held at IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid, Spain, on 6-7 June, this major new international trade event will showcase the best choice of organic food and drink, as well as eco living and beauty products, from across the Iberian Peninsula, the Mediterranean region and around the world.

Co-organised by Diversified Communications and IFEMA, and benefiting from strong government and industry support, the event is set to bring thousands of specialist organic retailers, supermarket buyers, distributors, wholesalers, importers and exporters together to do business with 500 exhibiting companies.

Andalucía, Cataluña and Murcia – among Spain’s biggest organic producing regions, and the Valencian Community (its fastest growing) are all now confirmed to host dedicated pavilions.  As are: La Rioja, the Basque Country, Galicia, and Madrid.  Together, these vibrant regional pavilions will showcase the richly-diverse organic food, drink, ingredients and wine that has made Spain such a giant of gastronomy and a (top ten) leader in the world’s organic market.

Spanish exhibitors also include Intereco, Anecoop, Biogran, Soria Natural, Bruñó, Hispania Organics, Dulcesol, Ekotrebol, Can Valls, Spanish Organic Wines (Bodegas Pinuaga), Bodegas Robles, Delicious & Sons, DeliCatalia, and DO Jumilla. Plus Alkanatur, Cal Margarit, Kimera, Omella, Soria Natural, Ibiza y Formentera Agua, and Omamori (in Eco Living Iberia).

José Miguel Herrero Velasco, director general of the food industry at Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, welcomes the show’s launch and highlights its role in helping to promote the consumption of organic.  He comments: “Our goal is to make Spain a benchmark for better balance within the food chain. At Organic Food Iberia, Spanish companies will be promoting sustainability and efficiency and informing visitors about their eco-friendly production systems. Thanks to the values, quality and reputation of the “Alimentos de España” brand, and in accordance with the objectives of 2030’s Agenda, we want to position Spain as a beacon for the benefits of ecological production and in the fight against food waste, and this international trade show will be an excellent gateway between Spain and the rest of the world.”

Portugal Foods (supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in Portugal) will also enjoy a big presence at the show, being joined by around 50 Portuguese suppliers/producers.

“Supporting the growth of organic agri-food sector is a priority in Portugal and we are delighted to support Organic Food Iberia to showcase the diversity of quality produce from Portugal and to promote exports and the consumption of organic produce in the domestic market,” says Gonçalo de Freitas Leal, director-general for agriculture and rural development at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in Portugal.
