Commercial Kitchen, the UK’s first and only dedicated event for the entire catering equipment industry, is well on track to feature over 100 exhibitors when it returns to the NEC Birmingham next June.
Over the last few months, since its highly successful second edition, exhibition space has been selling at an incredible rate. Around 70% is now sold, says organiser Diversified Communications UK, with some of the UK’s biggest catering equipment suppliers and manufacturers already on board.
Recently confirmed new exhibitors include The American BBQ Company; Precision Refrigeration; kitchen ventilation and extraction experts CK Direct; floor cleaning equipment supplier Rotowash; S&S Northern, which designs and manufactures gas safety systems; flooring and wall cladding specialists Altro; and DC Warewashing and Icemaking Systems.
“From all we have heard, Commercial Kitchen is a fabulous event that showcases the very latest equipment innovations all under one roof. Technology and innovation are very important factors we look to when developing our machines, and we are very excited to be a part of the 2018 event,” says Bob Wood, director of DC Warewashing and Icemaking Systems.
Rebooked exhibitors include Adande Refrigeration, Clifton Food Range, Gamble Foodservice Solutions, MCS Technical Products, Meiko UK, Multivac UK, Panasonic, Purified Air, QCR Recycling Equipment, Regale Microwave Ovens, rexmartins, Roller Grill, Space Group, TME Thermometers, Unox UK, Viessmann Refrigeration Systems, and Welbilt.
Many of these returning names also opted for larger stands to boost their brand presence for 2018. Meiko is just one of them. Peter Nimmo, the company’s regional sales director, was full of praise for Commercial Kitchen 2017, calling it ‘a great show’.
“The footfall [was] fantastic with lots of good leads. On the morning of the first day alone, the number of contacts I spoke to would have taken 2-3 months to contact!” he said.
Regale Microwave Ovens is also looking forward to the 2018 show. Summing up their exhibiting experience, MD Patrick L Bray simply said: “We achieved the best results of any trade show that we have ever attended.”
“It’s all about quality. And the quality of our visiting buyers is exceptional,” explains Commercial Kitchen’s event manager Katie Tyler.
The numbers really do speak for themselves: over 40% of our visitors in 2017 were top-level buyers, including owners, CEOs and MDs. 35% carried purchasing power for a multi-site, chain or group operator. Around one in four boasted an annual spend over £1m. These are exactly who our exhibitors want to meet and the high demand for our 2018 show certainly reflects this.
“It’s been a busy few months for the Commercial Kitchen team already, with lots of interest from exciting new suppliers looking to reach this important market. We look forward to announcing more details soon,” she says.
With more exhibitors comes the promise of even more new innovations for the show’s visiting buyers. Diversified UK is expecting to welcome over 2,000 attendees for 2018. Among them will be senior equipment buyers from independent, group and multi-site restaurants, pubs and bars, hotels, food-to-go outlets, universities, schools, hospitals, care homes, local authorities, contract caterers, retailers, attractions, equipment distributors and foodservice consultants.
“It’s great to have a show dedicated for the commercial kitchen, it’s the most relevant UK show in my calendar,” says Adele Hing, kitchen & equipment development manager – food operations at Nando’s.
“It’s all at the Commercial Kitchen show. All the equipment you will ever need to equip your new Commercial Kitchen or re-fit your existing one. It’s the show not to miss!” says restaurant consultant Frank Boltman.
