Industry ‘looking forward’ to Coach & Bus UK 2017

Thousands of passenger transport professionals from across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are gearing up to attend Coach & Bus UK next week, when it returns to the NEC Birmingham on 4-5 October.

Visitor pre-registrations are currently tracking well ahead, with representatives from all the major and regional bus and coach operators, local authorities, transport specifiers, partnership coordinators, and stakeholders expected to attend.

Among them are National Express, Stagecoach, First Bus, Arriva, The Go-Ahead Group, Metroline, Abellio, Transdev, RATP Group, City Sightseeing, trentbarton, Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Co, Reading Buses, Nottingham City Transport, Translink, Metrobus, Bus Eireann, Lothian Buses, Oxford Bus Company, Shearings, Alfa Travel, Edwards Coaches, Centrebus, Diamond Bus, National Holidays, Bakers Dolphin, Belfast Bus Co, Irish Citylink, Blackpool Transport Services, South Wales Transport, McGill’s Buses, Johnsons Coach and Bus Travel, Transport For Greater Manchester, Transport for London, and Tower Transit.

They’ll be checking out what’s new and next from 190 exhibiting companies representing every link of the supply chain for coach, bus and mini vehicle operation.  There will be over 70 of the latest vehicles available to view across the show floor, in the miniplus area, and outside display area; including models from Arriva, Auto Cuby, Ayats, B.A.S.E., Caetano, Dawsonrentals, EVM, GM Coachwork, Irizar, London Hire, Mellor, Mercedes-Benz, Minis to Midis, Moseley (PCV), Mistral Group & Alexander Dennis, Nu-Track, Pelican Bus & Coach, Swansea Coachworks, TBC Conversions, Treka Bus, and Volvo.

The industry showcase of the year

Coach & Bus UK may need little introduction to the industry it serves.  Around two in every three visitors to the biennial show (which alternates with Euro Bus Expo) have come before.  For them, it’s a ‘must attend’ for keeping up-to-date with the latest innovations, solutions, and insights.  First time visitors will soon discover the same.

“Whether you’re looking to purchase new vehicles, upgrade your technology, improve your passengers’ experience or your business efficiency, you will find the best of what’s on offer here at Coach & Bus UK,” explains event director Helen Conway.

“That’s what makes the show such an exciting and invaluable experience to the thousands of visitors that regularly attend,” she says.

“I always leave the show buzzing and energised, it’s a great showcase for the industry.  I cannot wait to see what innovative ideas are on offer this year,” says Richard Stevens, MD of Plymouth Citybus.

“I look forward to attending Coach & Bus UK, it enables me to keep up-to-date with new products and ideas, plus gives me the opportunity to network.  There is always something new and exciting to see,” says Matt Evans, MD of Centrebus.

“Coach & Bus UK is an essential part of our market engagement process, it provides valuable insights into emerging technologies and product innovations,” says Mark Osmer, procurement projects advisor at Translink.

“Coach & Bus UK is an important event for us at NX, it gives us the opportunity to look at new solutions.  I am particularly interested in advances in safety solutions and the use of technology that when deployed makes life easier for my staff and customers,” says Kevin Gale, chief operating officer, UK and Germany, at National Express.

“We always make time for the team to attend.  You never get the opportunity to see so many industry faces in one place and we always achieve so much whilst there,” says Jenny Turner, procurement manager at Go-Ahead London.

“Network Warrington are undergoing a transformation programme and so the ability to meet the suppliers who will support the change face to face at Coach and Bus UK is a terrific opportunity.  We look forward to attending,” says Ben Wakerley, MD of Network Warrington.

“Coach & Bus UK is an event that I always encourage my management to visit.  In one day, they can enhance their awareness and understanding of everything that is new in our ever changing industry,” says John Johnson, commercial director at Johnsons Coach and Bus Travel, and chairman of CPT Coach Commission.

“If you are into transport, and buses in particular, Coach & Bus UK is the place to be!  New buses, new technologies, new ideas!” says David Edwards, passenger transport manager at Cornwall Council.

“Coach & Bus UK is a chance to meet old friends and new technology all under one roof – what’s not to like!” says Mark Fowles, MD of Nottingham City Transport.
