This month’s day in the life post features Adriana Kempt, the sales executive for Lunch!, who works from our lovely Brighton office. Find out more about her day-to-day at Diversified and what she loves about working here.
Tell us a bit about your background before joining Diversified
I used to work in IT/Telecoms previously and made the jump into Events a couple years ago on a wing and a prayer and it was the best decision of my life.
How do you get to work in the morning?
I walk in, it gives me a chance to listen to some music and have a little bit of quiet time before the day begins. It’s really nice to see the same faces in the morning and do that thing where you nod at each other.
What do you do for lunch?
We are based in the North Laines, so we have some amazing lunch spots around. Milk No Sugar or Time for Kimchi are my favourites, but I tend to bring lunch from home and take a lunch gym class or go for a run if the weather is good.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
This is going to sound so made up, but my favourite part about coming in to work is coming to see my colleagues. We see each other all day at work and then we end up seeing each other at the weekends. It makes such a difference for your mental health and just your day to day if you get on with your colleagues, as these are the people you spend most of your time with.
What’s the most challenging aspect of your role?
At the moment it’s Coronavirus, last year it was Brexit and I am sure next year it’ll be something else. But what’s that famous line ‘Keep Calm and Carry on’….
What’s the best thing about working at Diversified?
Does it have to be one thing? I love coming in to work and being met by the lovely Sue (she was robbed in the customer service award!), I love hearing Carsten and his ideas, I love that Rebecca’s and my coffee schedule is synced. But again, without it sounding completely made up, the best thing about Div is the people and everyone is just like family, they make work a joy.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
I have a family, so trying to fit a hobby or any interests is a bit tricky, but it’s so super important to make that time. So, I go for a run, I volunteer at Park Run every week, if you head to Hove Prom, I’m the one cheering you on telling you, that you are doing great and are awesome. I also try to pretend to be hip and go to gigs and I am known to love a walking tour.
If you weren’t in this role, what job would you be doing?
If I can convince my boyfriend that a stay at home puppy mom is a thing, then I would probably be doing that.
